Day Trips
Our Poole Park centre and Brand New Buddens Activity Centre are both ideal for your school's next day trip. This can consist of morning or afternoon sessions or both, we are here to suit your needs and build a trip out of the classroom to meet your objectives.
Depending on which centre you choose, we can offer a choice of either water or land-based activity sessions. The shallow waters and extremely safe activity areas at Poole Park offer the best introduction to watersports and outdoor education for school children and teachers alike. We can also offer RYA certificated sessions in dinghy sailing if you wish to gain certification. For those looking for a more land-based activities with a bit of watersports thrown in, then our Buddens Activity Centre has it all from archery and abseiling to kayaking and Tomahawk Throwing. You can choose from any of our activities listed in each centre to and talk to our Schools team to build your next school trip.
Weekly sessions during school time
We offer two-hour weekly sessions during school time. Your pupils can enjoy a variety of different activities - a great opportunity for them to try something new or improve on existing skills.
Alternatively, youngsters can work towards a National Governing Body Qualification e.g. RYA (Royal Yachting Association) Stage 1 sailing (minimum of six sessions).
Weekly after school clubs
We can offer a weekly after school club where students can experience a wide range of different activities to discover which activity they enjoy the most. Alternatively, you can concentrate on one activity and work towards a NGB recognised certificate.
Multi-activity taster days
A great way for students to experience a wide range of water sports and land-based activities and build strong group bonds. These can be a morning or a whole day of multi-activities, including sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, orienteering, raft building and team- building for up to 120 students.
NGB recognised courses
Pick a single activity and work towards an NGB qualification such as sailing over a series of day sessions. Times can be flexible to suit your requirements.
These sessions can be used towards the P.E curriculum or can be linked into other curriculum areas for instance literacy, numeracy or ICT. We can help give ideas of ways of doing this if required.

Andy Darch from Kings Park Academy explains the importance of offering day trips outside the classroom; "The confidence that it’s given our children is really important to us. For some, they don’t necessarily find school easy, but they get such enjoyment and satisfaction out of it and are achieving real success. Honestly, three years ago we didn’t have anybody sailing, now they all want to do it! It’s given some of them a real sense of purpose in school, especially for those in their final year, of wanting to continue to learn a new skill and a desire to carry on at school."
