Rockley MD Pip WoodsRockley Watersports Managing Director, Pip Woods

Originally from a financial background, Pip joined the Rockley team in 2003 and took over as Managing Director in 2014.

I feel very proud to be in charge during Rockley’s 40th year and of what we have all achieved. I am supported by a great team and it is equally as fun as it is challenging!

There are so many highlights of the year (aside from the odd camping trip with my dogs George and Henry as well as the Rockley girls Thursday night bike ride around Dorset) but here are just a few:

The relationship we have and the things we have done with our chosen charity Julia’s House is something close to my heat and by far the most rewarding part of my job. The Sibling Residential Weekend and the Splash in the Park charity day we host are amazing fun.

The Dorset School Games hosted at Poole Park Lake brings together primary and secondary school children as part of an initiative to motivate and inspire young people to take part in more competitive school sport. Thirteen schools and over 200 pupils participated in the 2016 event.

We undoubtedly live in a world where it feels like social media is taking over, but we are still encouraging everyone – young, old, novice and expert to get out on the water, on your bike or whatever takes your fancy and really enjoy the outdoors!

In 2016 Pip set herself the extraordinary challenge to run, swim and cycle several times to raise funds and awareness for Julia’s House. Taking inspiration from the Brownlee Brothers Pip completed three triathlons including the Olympic-distance AJ Bell London Triathlon followed by the Bournemouth Half Marathon.
