Fiona learnt to sail a Topper with her Grandparents when she was nine, and has loved being on the water ever since. She raced toppers and then a 29er for a little while before qualifying as a dinghy instructor. She worked at a local sailing club until she turned 18 and then did her first overseas season in France. She caught the season bug and has worked both summers and winters in some amazing places including Greece, Turkey, Sardinia, Italy, France and Australia - she knew it was an industry she wanted to stay in! Whilst at Uni she also learnt to windsurf, and was immediately hooked! After finishing Uni she went to work for Neilson Holidays, where she gained management experience, initially as a beach supervisor, before becoming beach manager and then activity manager.
