We welcome Fiona to the Rockley Team

We welcome Fiona to the Rockley Team. Whilst studying for degree in Outdoor Adventure Management at Southampton Solent Uni, Fiona also worked at Rockley as an RYA Instructor. She loved the place and the team so much that she decided, after gaining further management experience abroad, to come back and she's super excited!

Fiona learnt to sail a Topper with her Grandparents when she was nine, and has loved being on the water ever since. She raced toppers and then a 29er for a little while before qualifying as a dinghy instructor. She worked at a local sailing club until she turned 18 and then did her first overseas season in France. She caught the season bug and has worked both summers and winters in some amazing places including Greece, Turkey, Sardinia, Italy, France and Australia - she knew it was an industry she wanted to stay in! Whilst at Uni she also learnt to windsurf, and was immediately hooked! After finishing Uni she went to work for Neilson Holidays, where she gained management experience, initially as a beach supervisor, before becoming beach manager and then activity manager.

What would your perfect day be if time/travel/money was not an issue?

Pastries & coffee for breakfast, snowboarding with fresh powder and blue skies in the morning, fresh pasta in Italy for Lunch, windsurfing somewhere warm and windy in the afternoon and curry for dinner.

What would your superpower be?

Teleporting, then I’d actually be able to do that day!

What 3 things would you take to a desert island?

A hammock, sun cream (I love the sun but I get so burnt!) and some windsurf kit, I’m assuming it would be windy!

Which 3 people from any time in history you would invite round for dinner?

David Attenborough, he’s been everywhere, and I’m sure have some amazing stories! (Can I just do 1, I’m struggling to think of others!!)

Biggest indulgence?

Snacks!

Favourite movie or book you have seen/read?

Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts

What song would get you up on the dance floor?

Almost anything! I love a good dance!
