Assistant Chef / Sous Chef
We are looking to employ suitably experienced catering staff to support our Head Chefs in the running of our kitchens, and as part of a small team provide healthy, nutritious and tasty meals suitable for a variety of clients, at our three activity centres in South West France.
Our kitchens are purpose built on our Activity Centres, and provide a fun yet challenging environment to work in. Many of our Catering teams come from Winter Season back grounds, or from previous Summer Seasons around the UK or abroad – our Assistant Chef role is ideal for some who has done a Season as a Chalet Host - so if you have a passion for the seasonal lifestyle and fancy swapping your snow boots for the Sun and forest of the Landes region of France then Rockley might be just what you are looking for.
The majority of the people you would be helping to cater for will be UK school children that come and visit us for week-long activity trips. Depending on your centre you could be catering for up to 200 clients and staff on a weekly basis. As a Rockley Assistant Chef you will have the opportunity to develop your skills, be given responsibility and progress quickly. Many of our Head Chefs started as Assistants in our Rockley Kitchens.
Main Roles & Responsibilities
Assisting the Head Chef in the management of the kitchen Inc. Kitchen Paperwork.
Assist the Head Chef in producing Menu Plans.
Assisting in the production of all food on centre.
Running the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef.
Provide excellent Customer Service to our customers.
Requirements
Ideally the right candidate will already hold Basic Food Hygiene Level 2 and have at least 1 years / 1 seasons experience working in a Kitchen. Full UK Drivers Licence and the ability to speak basic French is desirable but not essential.

Catering Assistant
As a Catering Assistant you will work in the kitchen team with the Chef and Assistant Chef. As a Catering Assistant you will be a vital asset to the team and be making a big difference to the experience that our customers have on centre.
Main Roles & Responsibilities
Assisting the Chef and Assistant Chef with food preparation for breakfast, lunch and evening meals.
Ensuring that the kitchen is kept to required standards of cleanliness at all times.
Possibility of development during the season and being given more responsibility as your time goes on.
