Rockley Supports Women in Sport Week

Rockley is fully supporting Women in Sport Week  - an opportunity for everybody involved with playing, delivering, leading or working in sport to celebrate, raise awareness and increase the profile of women’s sport across the UK.

Body Image

The objective of Women's Sport Week is to celebrate and showcase women’s sport at every level, from the grassroots to the elite, and highlight the incredible contribution that women make to sport. The overall aim is to get more women and girls physically active and playing sport.

At Rockley we are happy to say that we see as many female youngsters and adults on our courses as we do males. And our school activity trips sees hundreds of young females taking to the waters participating in all sorts of activities ranging from sailing and windsurfing to kayaking and stand up paddleboarding, proving that our water activities really are for everyone.

We also employ as many female instructors as we do males who prove to be great role models for the youngsters who holiday with us.

A special mention to our MD, Pip Woods who completed the Bournemouth Half Marathon this weekend.
Pip has participated in a series of triathlons and half marathons throughout the course of the year in aid of
Dorset-based charity Julia's House. Her training and achievements are an inspiration to us all!

The benefits of a school residential trip for teachers and group leaders >

Teachers are amazing! However, with increasing pressures on workload and such a busy job, why take the extra time to organise a school trip? Well, because believe it or not there are many benefits for you, as well as the students.

Preparing young people for their first residential trip (for the youngsters) >

Every young person is unique - some come across as confident, energetic leaders, whilst others shy away from the limelight to work away in the background. Here at Rockley, we celebrate the achievements of all our students and nurture and mould their skill set. However, no matter how outgoing or confident a young person may be - going on a school trip away from home for the first time, can be scary and daunting which is why we want their first trip away to be a fantastic one!

We're making waves!
