Pip Woods Managing Director of Rockley, the established specialists in RYA training, holidays and School & group activity trips, has this month (17 May, 2016) been elected on to the British Marine Boat Show Board.

The British Marine Boat Show Board's role is to agree the strategy and business plans for promoting and managing the London and Southampton Boat Shows. The Board will also work together on the exhibition strategy within the UK to enhance the promotion of boating as a leisure activity.

Pip has worked for Rockley for over 12 years and not only maintains a focused voice of the company for all customers from school groups and individuals to advanced education trainees but is often seen on the water in her roles as RYA Coach Assessor and RYA Centre Inspector.

Commenting on her new role as Board member Pip said: “I am excited to have been elected to join the British Marine Boat Show Board. Working as part of a UK leisure marine SME I feel I can bring an added perspective to the Board and a voice of understanding for the grassroots and participation of boating and watersports.”

In 1976 Rockley Watersports opened its doors to its first students with a handful of boats and a couple of caravans on the beach at Rockley Point, Poole. Today Rockley has gone from strength to strength and can now boast that it is the largest commercial watersports training company in the UK. There are now five Rockley centres, three of which are in France and two in the UK. Over 10,000 people are welcomed every year on training courses, school activity trips and watersports holidays.
