Body Image

With easy access, shallow waters and surrounding grassy areas, Poole Park Lake provides a safe and fun environment for a day visit for your group to enjoy a range of outdoor activities. We have a variety of opportunities to provide a fun and educational experience with exciting activities to fit around your schedule.

We Can Offer:

  • Full day activity taster sessions
  • Half day activity taster sessions
  • After school activity club
  • Block of two-hour multi-activity sessions
  • Block of weekly sessions working towards a NGB qualification

Multi Activity sessions give your students the freedom to try something new with a programme of taster sessions to include activities such as sailing, windsurfing, stand up paddle boarding, raft building and team building.

NGB recognised courses are a great way to have a goal to work towards with the aim of achieving NGB (such Royal Yachting Association) accredited certification over a series of sessions.

The Benefits

Being outdoors and undertaking new challenges will not only help your students develop key personal skills such as confidence, teamwork and self- esteem our activities are also great for class /group bonding and learning new skills outside their normal learning environment.  We can link our activities to curriculum areas such as P.E, geography, literacy or numeracy, group challenge awards and badges or Duke of Edinburgh awards.

Get in touch to discuss a bespoke programme and find out more about the activities we can offer.

Why Choose Rockley?

Don’t just take our work for it, we spoke to some of our pupils and teachers to tell us why they love their sessions at Poole Park:

"It gets you out and moving and it’s fun. I really love sailing. When you go sailing you have all this space and we can be ourselves. Sometimes you feel trapped in a classroom with all the school gates." Riley, King’s Park Academy

"I like how you can go really fast and you don’t have an engine, the power is the wind. I’ve learnt how to deal with the wind and can just do it and enjoy it." Piper, King’s Park Academy

"It helps me think of what I can do when we’re older because when I’m older I’d like to work at Rockley." Cassy King’s Park Academy

"The confidence that it’s given our children is really important to us. For some, they don’t necessarily find school easy, but they get such enjoyment and satisfaction out of it and are achieving real success. Honestly, three years ago we didn’t have anybody sailing, now they all want to do it! It’s given some of them a real sense of purpose in school, especially for those in their final year, of wanting to continue to learn a new skill and a desire to carry on at school." Andy Darch King’s Park Academy

"There’s a real change, a real buzz, and it’s just that excitement and joy it’s bringing to them. It’s the whole person you are developing and it’s the long-term development of these children. If you provide these opportunities you show them that there are more than just the four walls and they will take it on into life and with their own children." Andy Darch King’s Park Academy
