In its 47th year the Southampton Boat Show returns to Mayflower Park, Southampton and will showcase the very best that the international marine industry has to offer including one of Europe’s biggest purpose-built marinas.

With a host of fantastic attractions as well as thousands of boats, brands and equipment to see and try first-hand, there will be something for everyone.

The annual event that attracts visitors from all over the country and Europe has a host of family-friendly attractions including on-water activities such as:

• On the Water’s Get Afloat - is a tailor made attraction for younger visitors which gives 8-16 year olds a chance to discover the excitement of dinghy sailing and Stand up Paddleboarding (SUP);
Try-a-Boat - sessions will allow visitors to experience the thrill of being out on the water on a varied selection of vessels;
Wet Wheels - is a fully wheelchair accessible, 9m Cheetah Catamaran. Capable of driving at 40 knots, it has been specially adapted to allow disabled access;
RYA Active Marina Experience - will once again be offering visitors the opportunity to refresh their boating skills and gain top tips from expert instructors through their on-water and shore-based workshops.

You can also enjoy lunch by the water, get onboard the spectacular Earl of Pembroke tall ship, see the famous Red Arrows (who will be swooping across Southampton on Saturday 12 September) and view the entire show from the heights of the Honda Boat Show Eye!

The benefits of a school residential trip for teachers and group leaders >

Teachers are amazing! However, with increasing pressures on workload and such a busy job, why take the extra time to organise a school trip? Well, because believe it or not there are many benefits for you, as well as the students.

Preparing young people for their first residential trip (for the youngsters) >

Every young person is unique - some come across as confident, energetic leaders, whilst others shy away from the limelight to work away in the background. Here at Rockley, we celebrate the achievements of all our students and nurture and mould their skill set. However, no matter how outgoing or confident a young person may be - going on a school trip away from home for the first time, can be scary and daunting which is why we want their first trip away to be a fantastic one!

We're making waves!
