Liz has been with Rockley Watersports for over ten years and has worked tirelessly at Rockley Point as Centre Manager alongside Andy Smith and as a qualified RYA Coach Assessor; RYA Powerboat Instructor; RYA Centre Inspector; RYA Windsurf Instructor and RYA Windsurfer Trainer.
In her new role as Rockley Training and Development Manager Liz will provide welfare and safeguarding support to both the Rockley Education and staff team.
Liz will also be responsible for ensuring all staff are provided with adequate support and training to achieve their role within the team. Along with working closely with the Operations Manager, HR Manager & Head of Education to provide effective support in the above areas.
Some key responsibilities for Liz will now include;
Act as the Rockley’s Safeguarding Lead for all students, staff and clients
Work with the Education team to provide practical guidance and advice
Maintain a training programme allowing all students access to a variety of courses & instructor training throughout the year
Liaise with the Education Senior Practical Lead to ensure that Education practical delivery stays in line with the requirement of the Education course & is delivered at the correct level to achieve the required outcomes for the business
Provide mentoring to the Rockley Apprentice candidate to ensure that they achieve the required standards
Identify students for higher level training and get them ready for employment
Create development programmes that provide all staff with Continuous Professional Development, supporting the need to retain good staff
