Courses and Watersports FAQs

Special requirements

All special requests should be clearly noted at the time of booking. We will make every effort to comply with all special requests although they may be subject to availability. Please make sure that you have informed us, either on your booking form or in writing, of any special dietary requirements (if you are having meals with us) and any medical notes which we should be aware of. We need to know about any medication that you are taking or any disabilities that you may have.

What to wear

Buoyancy aids and waterproofs are provided. You will, however, need PLENTY of old clothes - as sailing can be a damp sport! Bring shorts and tee shirts for warmer days and tracksuit bottoms and sweatshirts for colder days. A pair of old trainers or wetsuit shoes is also recommended. A kit list is provided on our website www.rockleywatersports.com and in your final information email.

Arrival and departure - Day students

You are requested to book in at the sailing centre reception on the first day of your course between 0915 and 0925. Parents/Guardians who are responsible for picking up students should do so by 1645. Please inform the office on 01202 677272 (Rockley Point) if you are going to be late for pick ups or drop offs.

For those doing courses at Rockley Point and will be arriving the evening before your course, please check in at Rockley Lodge (situated on the left at the entrance to Rockley Park) between 1700 and 1800. After dinner all students will be given a talk regarding general safety procedures. Breakfast is served at 0800. You are expected to clear your room on the morning of departure. The final day of your course will finish at 1630 for most courses apart from the 5-day sailing courses, which will finish at 1600 on the Friday.

Are the qualifications guaranteed?

We guarantee to give you the training and do our very best to help you pass the training and assessments. Most of the certificates depend on you demonstrating your competence, so we can't give you a firm guarantee that you will pass. However, if the worst comes to the worst, you'll leave us with an action plan to complete.
