BTEC Level 3 Sport (Outdoor Adventure)

The BTEC Level 3 Sport (Outdoor Adventure) is a 2 year full time course that is equivalent to 3 A-Levels and represents the ultimate vocational course. The BTEC L3 combines theory units, practical activities and employer valued, professional National Governing Body (NGB) qualifications. This unique and dedicated course has been designed to enable candidates to build a career in the outdoor and leisure industry specialising in watersports.

After completing the 2-year BTEC L3 your options will be:

  1. Direct to University
  2. Foundation Degree
  3. Employment in the Outdoor Adventure Industry

  • BTEC L3 Sport (Equivalent to 3 'A' Levels)
  • RYA Dinghy Instructor
  • RYA Sailing Level 1, 2, 3
  • RYA Seamanship Skills
  • RYA Day Sailing
  • RYA Sailing with Spinnakers
  • RYA Start Racing and Performance Sailing
  • RYA Powerboat Level 2
  • RYA First Aid Certificate
  • Beginner & Intermediate Windsurfing
  • RYA Windsurfing Instructor

Entry Requirements

  • Ages 16+
  • At least five A*-C grade GCSEs or have completed a BTEC Level 2
  • No previous watersports experience required
  • Passion for watersports and outdoor adventure

Numbers are dwindling. But some is better than none and those that were not put off by Storm Ophelia/Brian/Kevin or whatever it was called ended up with lovely sailing conditions. Although our sessions are becoming a bit shorter as we all want to make sure that we get ashore before we get cold.
