24th June 2019
This June, Rockley will be hosting a FREE event at Bartley Sailing Club for local primary and secondary schools allowing youngster to take part in a range of competitive activities in a safe location. The event will run across 2 days comprising of a 'Can Do' Festival for youngsters on the SEN register and a sailing regatta day for primary and secondary school students. The sailing regatta will also include a Challenge and a Gold Fleet for the more advanced sailors. The event is designed to encourage local school children to participate in activities that they may may be completely new to them - all under the supervision of our fully and highly qualified members of staff. It's also a great opportunity for teachers to encourage learning outside the classroom and build relationships with students outside of a classroom environment.
For those participating in the sailing regatta day, a basic level of experience is required. If however you would like to participate but your students have no sailing experience, we do offer a 6 week sailing course leading up to the event. During the day a tuck shop and refreshments will be available. The whole event will involve Rockley working in partnership with Birmingham School Sailing Association.
