The overall responsibility of the Assistant Manager is to assist the Centre Manager by overseeing all aspects to manage the centre, to provide our clients with a safe, enjoyable and high-quality holiday experience.
Our Assistant Managers are expected to maintain the company standards set out in our operating procedures, ensure their team's have the correct attitude to work, personal presentation and customer service and liaise with the Centre Manager to make sure a safe, well organised, motivated and happy environment is provided for clients and staff alike.
You will provide overall supervision of all the centre's non water based activities, working closely with the Centre Manager, Activity Manager and Land Supervisor.
The Assistant Manager will make sure all staff are inducted correctly and monitored and evaluated at regular intervals. Working closely with the Centre Manager you will help with all administrative duties and make sure all accounts, reports, schedules and documents are up to date.
In the absence of the Centre Manager you will run the centre.
Our Harbours Edge Cafe Staff's main responsibility is to support the Cafe Manager with the running of the cafe. You will help to serve hot and cold drinks, ice cream and food to the general public and staff alike.
The Cafe Staff will provide an excellent level of customer service and work at point of sale as well as in the cafe kitchen. You will help to keep the cafe clean and tidy and will assist in the preparation of our basic snack menu.
The ideal candidate will have a fun, welcoming personality with a willingness to get involved. They will be hard working and motivated with a smiley disposition.
Prior experience in a similar environment and a Food Hygiene Level 2 certificate would be an advantage but is not essential.

We have two hire locations at Poole Park and Rockley Point centres where people can get out on the water on a variety of equipment from sailing boats to powerboats to our famous swan pedalos.
As part of our hire teams it will be your responsibility to launch/land and look after these clients.
Our hire staff will provide excellent customer service and assist with the safety of all our clients whilst on the water. You may also be asked to help the instructors launch/land and organise their groups.

The overall responsibility of the Head Chef is the delivery of fresh, high quality meals to all our clients and staff team, throughout their stay. The majority of people you will be catering for will be UK school children staying with us for residential activity trips. Depending on your centre you could be catering for up to 250+ clients and staff on a weekly basis.
You will be managing the centre kitchen to deliver all meals as required to our client and staff team. This will include all ordering from local suppliers, preparation and production of meals in line with the menus and budgets as agreed with the Centre Manager, and managing the rota for the catering team and any instructors and couriers as allocated.
The Head Chef will deliver all kitchen and catering facilities in line with the standards required in the Company’s Standard and Local Operating Procedures. As directed by the Centre Manager you will ensure that work undertaken follows our safety procedures and policies, taking part in mentoring and training to ensure safe working. This includes carrying out catering equipment checks to ensure anything faulty/damaged is reported and repaired.
You will liaise with the Centre Manager to create and prepare set menus that will suit both children and adults and consider special dietary requirements, all within the weekly budget.

The overall responsibility of Support Staff is to provide a high standard of centre facilities, care of centre equipment, general land duties and providing care to our clients while not on activity sessions.
You will provide a high standard of centre facilities as directed by the Land Supervisor and Centre Manager, in line with the standards required in the Company’s Standard and Local Operating Procedures. Daily duties are allocated and include, but are not limited to, cleaning of the wash blocks, clearing rubbish and preparing tent accommodation prior to client arrivals. There will also be driving duties as and when required.
As directed by the Centre Manager and Land Supervisor you will ensure that clients and staff are aware of and follow our safety procedures and policies, taking part in regular monitoring and evaluation.
-Wake up Wash up duty where you will assist in waking the residential school group clients before breakfast and oversee the washing up of breakfast, lunch and dinner crockery, glasses and cutlery.
-Night Duty where you will work from 10pm – 7.30am one a 1 week in 3 rotation.
-General care and welfare duties such as running, or assisting activity instructors, with evening entertainments, assisting with beach games and swimming pool sessions, assisting in the kitchen when necessary and assisting with off site excursions eg. Aqualand, Dune de Pyla, Mimizan and Biscarrosse Plage.
Support Staff and land team work on a split shift pattern dictated by the demands on the centre.

The Centre Manager is expected to set and maintain standards outlined in the Company’s Standard and Local Operating Procedures; attitude to work, company equipment, personal presentation, customer service and company ethos relating to our team and clients.
You are to provide overall supervision of all centre activities both shore and water-based, working closely with the Activity Manager to achieve this. Alongside the Activity Manager, the you will also liaise with the Overseas Facilities Coordinator to ensure clients and staff understand the correct use of centre equipment, ensuring that breakages by staff are fixed or paid for. You will also ensure that adequate stocks of materials and spares are carried to enable the smooth running of the centre and kit.
The Centre Manager will also ensure clients and staff are aware of, and follow, our safety procedures and policies through regular monitoring and evaluation. You must make sure staff have undergone the appropriate induction, centre orientation and training for their role including reading and understanding the accident, incident and fire procedure documents.
You will also have responsibility for all administrative and official duties, ensuring they are completed correctly and filed in the correct place; including accounts, bookings, reports, orders, records and weekly schedules and personnel documents.
Good relationships must also be established and maintained with the campsite and our French suppliers.

The overall responsibility of the Activities Manager is to support the Centre Manager and manage all activities on the centre. You will liaise with teachers and parents to provide a high level of customer service to our clients. You will also be responsible for the running of the centre in the absence/day off of the Centre Manager.
Our Activities Managers are expected to set and maintain the standards outlined in the Company’s Standard and Local Operating Procedures; attitude to work, company equipment, personal presentation, customer service and company ethos relating to our team and clients. You will be liaising with the Centre Manager to ensure management of the activity team provides a safe, well-organised, motivated and happy activity environment for clients and team alike. Providing advice and assistance to less experienced/new instructors both on and off the water, and working alongside the Centre Manager with staff inductions, training, appraisals, motivation and discipline.
You will be providing supervision of all courses and activities, on and off the water, making sure that all necessary administrative and official duties are complete; centre logs, course reports, fleet leader forms, equipment forms, weekly schedules and personnel documents. This will be done working closely with the Centre Manager and Centre Seniors.
The Activities Manager will ensure staff and clients are aware of and follow our safety procedures and policies via regular monitoring and evaluation. You will ensure staff have undergone the appropriate induction, centre orientation and training for their role, including reading and understanding the SOP’s, LOP’s, accident, incident and fire procedure documents. You will also perform the Senior Instructor role on the water.
You will be working closely with the Centre Manager and Overseas Facilities Coordinator to assist with the maintenance and upkeep of the centre and it’s equipment.

The overall responsibility of the Activity/Centre Senior is to organise and oversee the running of a variety of sessions as well as supporting the Activities Manager and Centre Manager with other tasks around the centre. You will be assisting with the running of the centre on a day-to-day basis.
Our Activity/Centre Seniors are expected to set and maintain the standards outlined in the Company’s Standard and Local Operating Procedures; attitude to work, company equipment, personal presentation, customer service and company ethos relating to our team and clients. You will work with the Activity Manager and Centre Manager to ensure management of the activity team provides a safe, well-organised, motivated and happy activity environment for clients and team alike. You will perform the Senior Instructor role on the water in the absence of the Activities Manager and will coordinate some evening entertainments as directed by the Centre Manager.
You will provide supervision of all courses and activities on and off the water, making sure that all paperwork and administration is completed as directed by the Activities Manager. You will also be assisting with providing advice and guidance to less experienced instructors both on and off the water.
The Activity/Centre Senior will ensure that clients and staff are aware of and follow our safety procedures and policies, taking part in regular monitoring and evaluation. You will also liaise with the Centre Manager and Activity Manager to assist with the maintenance and upkeep of the centre and it’s equipment.
Duty Senior day:
One day each week you will perform the role of Duty Senior. This means that you are the most senior person on duty from 7.30am for 24 hours. Although there will always be a manager working you will be in charge of making sure mealtimes run smoothly, that evening entertainments start on time and that you are available to oversee bedtimes for school groups.
It is highly preferable that our Activity/Centre Seniors hold the following:

You will also deliver some evening entertainments as directed by the Centre Manager/Office Assistant/Activity Manager. All courses on and off the water will be delivered in line with the standards required in the Company’s Standard and Local Operating Procedures, and any paperwork or administration will be completed as directed by the Activity Manager, Senior Instructor and Fleet Leader.
Following direction from the Centre Manager and Activity Manager you will ensure that clients and staff are aware of and follow our safety procedures and policies. You will also take part in regular monitoring and evaluation.
An Activity Instructor will assist the Activity Manager, Senior Instructor or Fleet Leader in carrying out repairs on faulty or damaged equipment and will ensure everything is reported properly.
You will also have some general centre duties such as assisting in the kitchen, cleaning tents, night duty and supervising the wash up area after meals. As directed by the Centre Manager, Centre Senior or Office Assistant you will also assist in general land duties on a rotational basis.

The overall responsibility of the Land Supervisor is the provision of centre facilities to a high standard, care of centre equipment, general land duties and also providing care to our clients while not on activity sessions.
You will be overseeing a small team of Support Staff providing a high standard of centre facilities as directed by the Centre Manager, in line with the standards required in the Company’s Standard and Local Operating Procedures. You will undertake and delegate daily tasks that will include, but are not limited to, cleaning the wash blocks, clearing rubbish and preparing tent accommodation prior to client arrivals. You will also be responsible for the turnaround of the centre on changeover days, with the assistance of the management team, ensuring that high standards are achieved and that cleanliness checks are carried out. There will also be driving duties as and when required.
The Land Supervisor will liaise with campsite management and suppliers and provide excellent customer service to teachers and clients. They will ensure that all clients and staff are aware of and follow safety procedures and policies, taking part in regular monitoring and evaluation.

The overall responsibility of the Residential Assistant is to support the Residential Supervisor and Centre Manager in the running and maintenance of our 60 bed residential facility. Providing pastoral care for our young residential clients.
As directed by the Residential Supervisor or Centre Manager you will assist with welcoming clients to our residential lodge, provide pastoral care and be the immediate point of contact for customers, assist the Lodge Chef with the production of meals including making up packed lunches and sandwiches on a daily basis and serve evening meals. You will coordinate evening activities for our residential students, alongside our activity team, be responsible for cleaning the residential building and will be an on duty staff member overnight (on a rota basis). You will also assist in our Beach Club Café.
All of this will be carried out in accordance with the standards required in the Company’s Standard and Local Operating Procedures.
