At Rockley we are committed to helping you upskill and add to your CV where possible. Our unique Training Courses and Staff Development Programmes give you the opportunity to gain further world-wide recognised qualifications.
Our very popular 12 week Leap for Success Training and Development course is open to those with limited or no RYA qualifications and is aimed at training you up to become RYA Dinghy and Windsurf Instructors. Further qualifications will include RYA First Aid, RYA Powerboat Level 2 and RYA Pre-Entry Assessment. This year's course will also include recognised Paddlesport qualifications. On successful completion of the course you are offered guaranteed employment at any of our five centres either in the UK or France. Click here for further details.
Course date: February each year (minimum age 18 years)
This three week Programme, for those aged 18 years+, is aimed at giving more experienced RYA instructors the opportunity to gain their RYA Senior Instructor qualification. The programme includes RYA Safety Boat, coach led mentoring in leadership and management techniques and the RYA Senior Instructor course. Applicants for this very popular course must hold at least their RYA Dinghy Instructor and have a full season of teaching experience. The SI course is held in week three and your acceptance onto the RYA Senior Instructor course itself is subject to your performance in weeks one and two along with a recommendation from an RYA Centre Principal. This scheme is specifically for our Rockley staff who are already qualified RYA Dinghy or RYA Start Windsurf Instructors and wish to upskill with further endorsements. These could include RYA Advanced Instructor, Multi-hull Instructor, Race Instructor, Intermediate Windsurfing Instructor, Powerboat Instructor and Mountain Bike Development.
